Entrances are important as they are the first view of your home for yourself and your guests. We have a unique opportunity to show our ideas for entryways as our Georgian Mansion on Yorkville started out as a family home. Come in and watch how we deal with the same issues you face at home.
We all want many things from our entryways. They welcome us home, provide a sense of safety and warmth, and a place for all of our stuff that we need to deal with the outside world. Here is our entry way. We like warm light colours, natural tones and bunches of silk flowers in bright vases. There are also some practical sides to our entryway as well, with our owl umbrella stand and shoes can be tucked away under the white case.

We have used the same colour palate as the vases to fill the case with objects that were collected from our travels. This adds a sense of personalization to your entry way as each item is a link to your own past.
Entryways should also have an object or two that catches your eye and provides a sense of depth and interest. We have taken an antique china cabinet and used it as a closed storage area for our entryway. Inside closed doors we would store handbags, shopping bags, and keys. On the open shelves we like to put items that draw the eye and provide a hint of mystery.
We have carefully positioned Chinese statues inside the top of our china cabinet so below is the view from eye level. By adding what looks like a mini room within your entryway, the actual entry space will appear bigger and seem to have more depth. We liked the effect.
Our home will be changing and evolving as the seasons pass, just as yours will. Come in and take a look at how we are evolving.
